Buddy was my guy. I always loved those SS’s and he was like me, the skinny little kid who couldn’t gain weight to save my life. But what a smooth glove. All-star, great bunter. I even had a Harrelson t-shirt with #3 on it when I was about 12 years old. He used to wear a superman t-shirt with the “S” x’d out in tape. I was never so pissed as when Buddy’s “jaw got in the way of Pete Rose’s fist”. I got to meet him later on when I covered the Mets and at a company function. Really smart baseball mind.
