Geno Wagner nominated Dick Hoblitzell for the HOM because his previous nominee, Ron Santo, accidentally got himself posthumously elected to the actual Baseball Hall of Fame, which disqualified him from the OBC Hall of Mediocrity. Geno didn't say why he nominated Ron Santo earlier, but that's Geno for ya.
